Most romantic spots in West Michigan to get engaged

When to get engaged is easy: The upcoming holiday season is the most popular time of the year for marriage proposals.
Where to get engaged? Now that’s a question with lots of great answers!
Around West Michigan there are many popular spots for a marriage proposal, and one of them could be the perfect place for you, too. Wherever and whenever you choose to celebrate the occasion, Talsma Jewelers can help you get your planning underway with the right engagement ring.
Here are some of the area’s most romantic places to get engaged:
*under the chandelier at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel in downtown Grand Rapids. Four thousand pounds of class hanging from a gold leaf ceiling in the historic Pantlind Hotel lobby. For a more modern upscale setting, the J.W. Marriott hotel is nearby.
*Frederick Meijer Gardens. The 158-acre campus has scores of suitable sites including botanical gardens, famous sculptures and waterfalls.
*on the Fallasburg Covered Bridge near Lowell. One of the state’s only covered bridges that’s open to motor vehicles, this 145-year-old bridge over the Flat River has signs warning of a $5 fine for riding or driving on the bridge faster than a walk. For a bridge without a cover, and without motor vehicles, the Blue Bridge over the Grand River in downtown Grand Rapids is a popular spot.
*Rosa Parks Circle in downtown Grand Rapids. Tucked between buildings that make up the downtown skyline, the ice skating rink at night makes for a stunning setting.
*Lookout Park in Grand Rapids. Talk about a stunning view. The city park set high above the Grand River is a great place to watch fireworks, and long has been a popular place for lovebirds.
*Downtown Grandville, after the Dec. 2 tree lighting ceremony featuring carolers, reindeer and a parade. If you’re not quite ready for a marriage proposal Dec. 2, you can start your shopping at Talsma Jewelers and plan for an extra-special gift under the Christmas tree this year.
At Talsma Jewelers, our 50 years of knowledge and experience mean you can trust us to help you get the perfect ring. We’ll teach you about diamonds so you know what you’re buying, and we can even custom-design a ring the way you want it.
“It usually takes two to three visits before a decision gets made, and we encourage people to check around,” owner Bruce Talsma says. “Most return to us because of the quality of diamond they can buy from us.”
